Kube Studios Reviews from Marcus

Kube Studios Birmingham

Do you have what it takes to shine in front of the camera? Every week Kube Studios sees dozens of new faces in our Birmingham studio, all with different aspirations. Some people come for a social day out and a memento, others come with plans to become a model, while others just want to find out more about photography. If you want to know more about us, watch the video at the bottom of this post.
Kube Studios Reviews

Most people who come to Kube Studios Birmingham want to have their modeling portfolios made or updated. It's important to keep your portfolio fairly up to date, especially if you have changed your look in any major way such as tattoos or dramatic hair style changes. That is exactly why Marcus came to see Kube Studios in February - complete with his new, stunning, tattoo sleeves!

Hi again, No problem I'll write a few words. The reason I came back was because I got tattoos and realised that they made my old portfolio completely redundant. Thankfully I only needed to get some of the shots redone, because my headshots and profile are still the same. As before, your service was good and the results were as expected. Best to the team, Marc

Kube Studios Review - Rebecca

Kube Studios Review

Having been on the scene for over 12 years, it could be said that Kube Studios are one of the best known modelling portfolio photography studios in the UK. With our studios in Manchester, Birmingham and London, we cover almost all of England! With modelling and fashion becoming more popular than ever before thanks to celebrity bloggers and reality shows, we see more and more young people having modelling portfolios made. A good portfolio consists of a variety of shots. The most important one is arguably the head shot.

For any head shot, minimal make up should be worn as it can hide your features - and often put agencies off. Keep it natural and let your self be the subject, not your make up! Here is what Rebecca had to say about her modelling portfolio photoshoot day at Kube Studios London!

Here is a review we got after a visit to Kube Studios Birmingham from Kathy who came in as part of her hen night!

"Hi! yes! Everything went fine at the wedding, and that was a nice surprise given how fast we arranged it. So glad i kept it simple. The photos you took were the last ones taken of me before I got married, apart from a few on my friends phones on the morning of the wedding so they're particularly important to me. I had a really nice day, so thank the team for me please and I will maybe be in touch next year for some baby shots! Fingers crossed!!! Tc, Kathy"

Kube Studios Review

Kube Studios Review

Kube Studios review performance and service continually and our teams are constantly improving their skills and talents. We encourage each team member to fulfill the role they are most adept at which in turn maximises the quality of service we can provide to you, the paying customer. At this time of year we've noticed that we're really piling the make up on as the skin dries out so quickly in the cold and we need to cover it up! In this post our in-house make up artists from Kube Studios London offer some tips for self-employed make up artists that will help you maintain better relationships with your clients.

Nadine: "Never arrive late. Loads of people rely on makeup artists to finish their job before the show can begin. It doesn't matter if it is for a wedding or a fashion modelling shoot, a makeup artist should never be late to work. Arriving late on the job appears unprofessional and can quickly ruin your relationship with the client. Instead, make sure that you arrive on time and be prepared for anything that might happen."

Tara: "Don’t have a catty attitude. Your attitude makes a big difference in the beauty industry and no one wants to work with a rude makeup artist, even if he or she has taken makeup classes at the best school in the world. If you are working on a modelling audition or on a set then the atmosphere will likely be tense and busy. The last thing people need is for the make up artist to appear unhelpful and grumpy so leave your attitude at the door and be friendly, kind, and professional at all times. This is a quick relationship killer and can ruin your success as a self employed makeup artist."

Kube Studios Beauty Tips

How to get Rid of Eye Bags

Aging is an inevitable, and depressing, part of life. As we age, the bags underneath our eyes generally become more noticeable. Eye bags are not only for old people though and many young adults and even teens can experience dark circles and puffy eye bags. Photographers such as Kube Studios can use graphic manipulation tools or even simple make up to remove their appearance, but the best way is to learn how to get rid of them completely.

When you wake up, putting cucumber slices or cold teaspoons over your eyes can dramatically reduce the appearance of eye bags. Also, try lukewarm teabags from your morning brews. Just hold them on for a few minutes and you'll notice a difference.

Staying hydrated and watching your diet in terms of caffeine and sodium are very effective. Despite popular belief, these encourage the retention of water which can lead to puffiness.  Multivitamins, fruit and veg will help hugely. Avoid alcohol, even mild alcohol poisoning from a big night out will have lasting effects on your complexion.

Avoid stressful situations where possible. Go shopping at off-peak times, create a nice environment in your home. Stress shows on the face very quickly, be it with wrinkles or eye bags. Sleep enough, regularly, and preferably at the same time each night. This helps your biorhythms stabilise and has loads of health benefits, both mental and physical.

Kube Studios: Dry hands a problem?

Kube Studios Tips for Dry Hands

Kube Studios
Kube Studios
Kube Studios are a leading UK modelling agency with offices in Birmingham, Manchester and London's West End. Only a stone's throw from Oxford Street, Kube's flagship studio has the best equipment and a great team with high end modelling experience.

As the days are getting shorter and the air is getting colder, many of us have the problem of dry skin on our hands. Our cuticles split and our skin feels delicate. Here are some tips that might help you this winter.

After using a scrub to get rid of the dead skin you can rub cuticle oil into your nails and cuticles followed by a rich moisturiser. For added effect, if you put the bottle of oil into a mug of hot water for 10-20 seconds, the solution is more liquid and is better absorbed by your nails.

Use a handcream with a low SPF in it, anything around 10-15. This adds a little protection from drying out and will reduce skin aging. Reapply every time after washing your hands thoroughly, a rinse won't remove the cream but a scrub will and they'll be vulnerable to drying once more.

If you have very dry skin it might be beneficial to use a hand mask at night to help the skin repair. Applying regular hand cream and wearing cotton gloves before sleep can have a similar effect if you don't have a hand mask at home.

Kube Studios: Toe and Heel Height

Kube Studios on Heels

We are a leading studio and agency with over 30 staff working with industry decision makers to get our models the best modelling jobs. Here at Kube Studios we overhear conversations about heels every day and thought we should cover some facts about what makes them comfortable, or not.

When you’re on set and wearing the same pair of heels for hours, it’s important to have the pair that’s right for you and your foot type. It goes without saying really, but they have to fit. Having one size too big or too small just doesn’t work when it comes to heels in modelling

Tight fitting toe boxes can cause the tissue around a nerve between the third and fourth toes to thicken leading to pain and numbness and also even cause bone to grow around the big toe joint. This forces the big toe in the way making bunions.

The higher the heel is the more pressure there is on the front of the foot. This can cause pain and pushes your centre of gravity forwards. In the long term this can lead to alignment problems in the hips and spine. The altered positioning of body weight also puts additional force on the inner knee, causing long term problems.
