Child Model Review

Kube Studios Child Model Review

Kube Studios are known to be one of the best fashion photography studios in the UK. They are the most respected studio with the best photographers, stylists, makeup artists and consultants. Aspiring models usually have no idea what it takes to get to where they need to be in the industry. What kind of modelling agency they need? How to post in front of the camera? What type of modelling is best for them? This is why Kube Studios are here: to guide models and provide them with a high quality usable modelling portfolio to show modelling agencies. Kube Studios is not a modelling agency.

Here is a recent review from one of our female child modelling clients, Gracie:

Review from Lilly

Kube Studios Review from Lilly

At Kube Studios we are here to help you succeed and stand out from the crowd. Modelling is one of the most competitive industries and having the support of a professional fashion photography studio is important. Kube Studios has been established for over ten years and specialise in all kinds of modelling portfolios and fashion photography from child to plus size. We are not a modelling agency. Here is one of our latest reviews, written by our client mum:

My daughter Lily's day at Kube studios was, to say the least, a great experience.

Natasha was charming, friendly and professional as were all the staff we met that day.
Beautiful photographs were taken and helpful advice given.

James has been an absolute star and is always there for any help needed, not to mention finding agencies to fit my daughters criteria in such quick time.

I will and have, recommended Kube studios to anyone interested in modelling either for themselves or their children.

You can visit Lily's modelling website here.

We are based in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Find out more about Kube Studios on our website, or follow Kube Studios on Facebook here. Read Kube Studios reviews here. Watch this video about our studio to learn more about our services:

Ayesha's Kube Studios Review

At Kube Studios, we work will all types of people who want to become a model. Our photographers, makeup artists and stylists have years of experience in bringing out your modelling potential. Our studios are around the country, and so you are never too far away from working with Kube Studios to achieve your dream of modelling professionally. We are not a modelling agency. Here is a review from one of our latest female models:

My name is Ayshea Murray, on the 12/07/16 I had a photo shoot at the Kube Studios in Birmingham. The whole team (especially Sarah and Mel) were very patient and accommodating. I have never been in front of a camera before and was very nervous! They made me feel fantastic and I loved every minute of it! I came away from the shoot feeling amazing and was very impressed! On the 21/07/16 I contacted the studio and spoke to James Scott who is an amazing guy! He gave me information and advice on which agencies to contact. ON THE SAME DAY I was signed up to one agency and already have an interview with another one on the 25/07/16!!!! Kube Studios are a very professional company and I would highly recommend them to anyone!! A big thank you to the whole team!!

New Kube Studio Testimonial from Model Nikki

Kube Studio testimonial from model Nikki.

Here a beautiful testimonial from one of our model's about how working with Kube Studios helped her to regain her confidence.

"I want to thank everyone at Kube studios, unlike most people, when I first replied to an email and sent off a photo of myself, (with my horse, of course), It was because I was feeling so bad about myself! I thought if I just got a reply, it would make my day, and go a long way to help building some confidence with in me and help me feel a bit better about myself. Well, what happened next was beyond anything and I’m still trying to get my head around it! Zish contacted me and after a lot of persuading, he convinced me to do a photo shoot at Kube studios London.

The shoot was booked for April 1st, which I thought the perfect date, me, in front of a camera, it had to be April Fools. After all, I’m a simple country girl and one of the lads, more at home in the woods/fields with my horse and dog, under a car/bike or up a tree than in front of a camera. Give me a set of tools or a horse trying to kill me, I can work it out, Point a camera at me and I run a mile! (90% of my photos are my animals) But I went anyway, and mostly for the same reasons I wanted to cancel. Life in general, feeling bad about myself, and especially after ending up with the paramedics at my home the day before, I desperately needed to do something that just wasn't normally me.

I was so scared, but Zish had been so nice to me and had told everyone at Kube Studios how nervous I was and to take care of me. Everyone was nicer to me than I ever could have imagined. I just thought it would be nice to have my hair and make-up done and get a few photos I could look back on in years to come and say ‘That was me’. I was made to feel so comfortable, confident even, and for once, beautiful. I never thought I would enjoy being in front of a camera, but by the end I was loving it!! When I was shown my photos, I didn't recognise myself, the girl in photos looked so beautiful, natural, and happy. How could it be that I was envious of the girl in my own photos?

I left the studio on a high looking forward to receiving photos I could one day show the grand kids and say, ‘see, I was young once ‘I emailed Zish to thank him and everyone involved for a day id never forget. Next thing I know I receive an email from Mike Hannah (the owner of the studio!) Asking if my comments and thanks could be tweeted along with their favourite photos, I couldn’t believe it and said yes without hesitation. Then, not really thinking much more of it, I get another email, James Scott this time,(That made 3 guys from the modelling studio, contact me, liking my photos and being so nice, I truly felt like crying)After a few emails and a long phone call, where James had tried to talk this very much non-tech girl through tweeter and social media presence, here I am.  It’s because of these 3 wonderful guys, and everyone at Kube studios, people that believed in me, that this simple, private, country tomboy is going to have a portfolio, a website and is starting on the path to believing in herself.

I will always keep the emails and everything I received to remember the confidence I found in myself that day and the people who saw something in me that I hope to one day see for myself. I can’t thank you all enough, for once in my like you truly did make me feel like I was beautiful. I want to thank everyone at Kube Studios"

New Kube Studios Review from Male Model Ryan.

Kube Studios loves to get feedback from our clients about their experience with us.Here a email we got from male model Ryan who came to Kube Studios Birmingham.

I just wanted to send a quick email to let you know my shoot at Kube Studios in Birmingham went amazingly well yesterday! Everybody I worked with were extremely friendly and helpful from start to finish. The stylists did an amazing job picking out the best outfits for me and my physique. And the photographer made me feel so at ease with his direction and advice during the shoot.I am ecstatic with the final shots and the advice I received on where to go from here was second to none. I couldn't be happier with how the day went. And lastly I'd like to thank you for the opportunity and all of the advice you gave me prior to the shoot, it was invaluable. I couldn't have done it without you! If you ever need any recommendations please do not hesitate to contact me. Id recommend Kube Studios to anybody looking to make a start in modelling.

My Experience With Kube Studios Review

Kube Studios Review

At Kube Studios we love publishing our reviews for the world to see. Here is one testimonial sent to us recently.

It all started, with my googling part-time jobs in Cheshunt, when I came across an advert labelled "you wanna be a model" which I clicked on. I had to fill in some details including my name, phone number and also a picture of myself. I was extremely pessimistic about receiving a reply via phone call or email, as I had doubts on my potential as a model.

The next day I received a phone call from James, an employee at model guides, who spoke to my mum and told her all about a photoshoot that I would be able attend in the coming week after the call. I then spoke to James myself and he informed me on the four different outfits I would need to bring, what time to be there and the location of the studio, Kube studios which was in Oxford Circus, London. After this call, I was massively pleased that I would be given the chance to have a shoot with professional photographers, make up artists and hair dressers, getting me prepared.

A week or so later, I was then traveling to Oxford Circus to attend the time frame for the shoot I was given. On arrival I was kindly greeted and given a form to fill out, asking me for my height, waist measurement, eye colour and modeling line I would like to go into. The first step was makeup which was applied by the make up artist, to blend in with my pigmentation and skin complexion. This was a rather quick process, which was followed by a change of hair style. I was then ready to go downstairs to one of many rooms where I met my photographer for the session and chose the four outfits out of a selection of different clothing items.

With the first outfit, I was rather nervous with what to do, in terms of facial expression, pose and camera presence. The photographer named Tally, started off by helping me with some poses I could carry out, which was an ice breaker. The first shoot was over and I was upstairs again, ready for a change of hair style. The second outfit choice was one that would be taken outside, to see how I would get on with the urban environment, natural lighting and members of the public passing by. After this shoot I was back to the hair stylist, ready for the third change of hair and back downstairs for the third outfit. Next, the fourth hair style and outfit was completed and I was finished for the day.

Another employee of the studio then came out to take us to her office where we reviewed the shots and got to see some that they touched up on photoshop. We then discussed prices for portfolios and discs containing the images. The portfolio was the best option, as it was most beneficial for the future and next step if I were to move forward into the modeling industry. A day or so later, I was back on the phone with James, discussing how the shoot went and the next steps, including waiting for the portfolio to be completed and creating a new email address and Twitter account so James and Kube studios would be able to sell me and help other agencies and companies gain interest into my photos.

Once the portfolio has been created, I will have a much better chance of finding work, as it will be a one-click direct link to my very own website where companies and recruiters ca
n view my shots and decide on whether to hire me for a casting or not. Kube studio employees and James were extremely helpful throughout the whole process and James is still a great help still, having the pleasure to answer my questions and help with issues and enquiries I may have.

New Review from Kube Studios

New Review

Every month we publish our best reviews, one's that are the most insightful and helpful about what we do to prospective clients. Here is a male model review from Ricardo.

Modelling is very much about who you know, even with the best looks. If you don't have access to quality photographers and camera equipment then you will never bring out your best in photos. Kube Studios are not a modelling agency but have the whole package. Their team of makeup artists, stylists and even lighting engineers were perfect for me. I got the photos I wanted to take to castings and send out. Now I have loads of work, and don't need to rely on an agency or someone to spot me. I can go out there and get the jobs myself! I love Modelling and I love Kube Studios!

Kube Studios Summer Review

Jenna's Kube Studios Review

Welcome back to the Kube Studios Review blog. As you will be aware, every week across our four locations our teams meet dozens of different men, women and children and are constantly being surprised by the level of ambition that's out there regarding modelling and the wide variety of people who want to get involved.

Kube Studios London
Fashion Photography at Kube Studios

Whether you are interested in becoming famous or simply want to try something new and get a bit of extra work to top up your day job, modelling really has something for everyone. The variety of models we see now in print and video has never been so great. Did you know there is even a modelling agency specialising in 'ugly' people! Alternative brands looking for eye-catching talking points and a slightly off beat image clearly find this prospect attractive.

One young lady who is clearly the opposite of 'ugly' and who visited Kube Studios in August is Jenna. Here's what she wrote to us last week following her day in our London studios.

Hey Mike! I just received the last of the photos I chose and I must say I'm really happy with all of them! It was such an exciting day and I'm really grateful to the guys for making me feel so welcome. I think you might get a call from my friend - her name is Carly E*****s and shes proper jealous of me! If i decide on any other photos I'll let you know but I'm happy with these for the mo :) Jennax

We love hearing back from people are their photoshoots so if you have something to say, we take all feedback on board as part of our efforts to provide a superior photography service. Visit the Kube Studios website and find more reviews on the Kube Studios tumblr

Kube Studios Review: Donna and Rebecca!

Kube Studios Review

Welcome back to the Kube Studios Reviews blog. If you are interested in becoming a model or making a visit to one of our locations, watch the short video at the bottom of this post and feel free to get in touch with a team member via our website.

We love it when we see a mother and daughter leaving the studio with smiles! Here is a letter we got from Donna who came to Kube Studios Manchester with her daughter Rebecca.

Kube Studios Reviews

My daughter Rebecca would daily come up to me and say mum look at my hair I wish it was longer or look at my freckles there spreading all over my face but to me she is just perfect so couldn't understand why she didn't see what I see I was filling in a receipt competition and saw models wanted send in a picture so I did without telling her!! Next day I got an e mail from James Scott saying she had been shortlisted and to get in touch oh no I thought what have I done Beccy is going to kill me for putting her in the spotlight!! I told her what I'd done her face was beaming yes yes I'll do it I was surprised by her reaction so I gave James a ring what a lovely man he is he made us feel at ease he talked to both of us described what would happen on the day and to relax and enjoy it he really made us feel that he was interested in how we felt about the photo shoot the day came Beccy had told all her friends about it she packed enough clothes to sink a small boat!! My husband drove as I'm not a confident driver and dropped us off the lady that opened the door with a beaming friendly face was so welcoming everybody was hugging each other and all the staff make up artist etc seemed like best friends the lady at the desk was so friendly we talked about her new baby Blake and then we met the photographer she was really nice very patient as Beccy went through all her clothes and the photographer advised her what to wear with what which was great Beccy said I wouldn't put that top n dungarees together but they look great don't they mum I replied its you that's making them look great love she smiled she chucked her clothes under the curtain and started to boss me about as her confidence started to build she didn't seem nervous at all in front of the camera which surprised me as she usually a little introvert then clothes change and little make up the artist was lovely she was giving Beccy advice about her hair and said her freckles were lovely and didn't want cover them up because they were cute Beccy giggled well hair tongued n make up on we we went up stairs to some steps and a wind machine her long hair blowing other parents there telling her how beautiful she looked Beccy confidence now bursting out of her chest the sunglasses were on and she was blowing kisses another clothing change hair up and extra make up  she sat on a circular Box with back lighting oh my word her eyes were twinkling in the light a tear came to my eye she looked gorgeous I thought this is gonna cost me a fortune because she looked lovely in all of them!!! The last ones she was sat on a chair and I thought I'm not too keen on them but when the photos come out they were beautiful we sat with the advisor and she said that all her photos were really good and that she wasn't nervous at all and this came through on the pictures she went through the price list which can get a bit expensive but you don't have to get them and I did feel a bit of child pressure because Beccy said please mum I really want this so £1600 later we got all the photos and a web site made the payments are interest free and worked out at £110 a month which seemed better £1000 is Rebecca's own money that I gave her when my father died 4 yr ago she hadn't known what to spend it on but she said this is it mum I want to spend it on this so that's what we did as we walked through Manchester Center Beccy was saying look mum that could be me on that bill board one day!!the next day I got a call from James asking how the shoot went he advised us to get a g mail account and join Twitter which I've no idea what I'm doing because I'm not very computer literate but he told me what to do and he would be in touch it was great knowing that he was still there supporting us as it was going round my head what have I done because it is a hell of a lot of money to us but to know he hadn't abandoned us made me feel more confident I had done the right thing meanwhile Beccy has been showing all her friends at school some of her photos on her phone she is so excited to be getting her own website the neighbours have asked for her autograph already before she gets famous haha thanks once again for helping boost Rebecca's confidence I just hope now she can see the beautiful lady that I see everyday thanks to all staff at kube studios and James for being so patient and kind to us we've met some lovely people on this big adventure!!

Kube Studios Review from Tara

Kube Studios Review from Tara

Welcome back to the Kube Studios Reviews blog. This month we thought we would share some feedback we got from Tara who came to our flagship London studios in May for a fashion modelling portfolio shoot. She was fantastic to work with and the team wish her the best of luck in her next steps towards becoming a model. If you are also interested in having a portfolio shoot, get in touch with our team for packages and various options! Don’t forget that we have studios in Manchester, Birmingham and London so we’re never too far away from you!

Hi Mike! Thanks for writing to me. Ofcourse I’d luv to let you know how my day went! Me and my mum took the train up to London from Croydon and arrived at Kube Studios about an hour early. Your team made us quite comfortable as we waited and soon enough I was asked to start getting ready. That was wen my nerves kicked in!!! All morning Id been fine but my knees were shakey and my hands went all clammy! After meeting the photography team it gota bit better and within 20 mins I was back to normal pretty much. It was really fun but the time flew so fast. The photos I ended up choosing were really nice and mum just put one on the wall in our living room, super embarrassing! I hope that’s what you wanted! I can’t think of anything else to say. Thanks Kube!

Hi

Just wanted to say thank you to Kube Studios. You really came through for me. Thank you for your patience and attention to detail - you are clearly perfectionists. I never thought of catalogue modelling and wanted to go into fitness modelling but your advice really made sense. The time you spent with me made my day so much more productive and worth it. The photos you took were great and I have submitted them to a modelling agency in London. Wish me luck guys!

Kube Studios Reviews from Marcus

Kube Studios Birmingham

Do you have what it takes to shine in front of the camera? Every week Kube Studios sees dozens of new faces in our Birmingham studio, all with different aspirations. Some people come for a social day out and a memento, others come with plans to become a model, while others just want to find out more about photography. If you want to know more about us, watch the video at the bottom of this post.
Kube Studios Reviews

Most people who come to Kube Studios Birmingham want to have their modeling portfolios made or updated. It's important to keep your portfolio fairly up to date, especially if you have changed your look in any major way such as tattoos or dramatic hair style changes. That is exactly why Marcus came to see Kube Studios in February - complete with his new, stunning, tattoo sleeves!

Hi again, No problem I'll write a few words. The reason I came back was because I got tattoos and realised that they made my old portfolio completely redundant. Thankfully I only needed to get some of the shots redone, because my headshots and profile are still the same. As before, your service was good and the results were as expected. Best to the team, Marc

Kube Studios Review - Rebecca

Kube Studios Review

Having been on the scene for over 12 years, it could be said that Kube Studios are one of the best known modelling portfolio photography studios in the UK. With our studios in Manchester, Birmingham and London, we cover almost all of England! With modelling and fashion becoming more popular than ever before thanks to celebrity bloggers and reality shows, we see more and more young people having modelling portfolios made. A good portfolio consists of a variety of shots. The most important one is arguably the head shot.

For any head shot, minimal make up should be worn as it can hide your features - and often put agencies off. Keep it natural and let your self be the subject, not your make up! Here is what Rebecca had to say about her modelling portfolio photoshoot day at Kube Studios London!

Kube Studios
Kube Studios London
Dear Team

I'm writing to thank you for my beautiful photos. I'm absolutely smitten with them and so are my family. We're all very excited about getting them out there and on agency desks! Any help would be appreciated so please let me know if you have tips or anything that might help me! Thanks in advance x

Becca D.

We love hearing back from happy customers and hope that every Kube Studios portfolio shoot results in success. To find out more about our fantastic London studio, visit the Kube Studios blog and watch the video below.

"Hi! yes! Everything went fine at the wedding, and that was a nice surprise given how fast we arranged it. So glad i kept it simple. The photos you took were the last ones taken of me before I got married, apart from a few on my friends phones on the morning of the wedding so they're particularly important to me. I had a really nice day, so thank the team for me please and I will maybe be in touch next year for some baby shots! Fingers crossed!!! Tc, Kathy"

Kube Studios Review

Kube Studios Review

Kube Studios review performance and service continually and our teams are constantly improving their skills and talents. We encourage each team member to fulfill the role they are most adept at which in turn maximises the quality of service we can provide to you, the paying customer. At this time of year we've noticed that we're really piling the make up on as the skin dries out so quickly in the cold and we need to cover it up! In this post our in-house make up artists from Kube Studios London offer some tips for self-employed make up artists that will help you maintain better relationships with your clients.

Nadine: "Never arrive late. Loads of people rely on makeup artists to finish their job before the show can begin. It doesn't matter if it is for a wedding or a fashion modelling shoot, a makeup artist should never be late to work. Arriving late on the job appears unprofessional and can quickly ruin your relationship with the client. Instead, make sure that you arrive on time and be prepared for anything that might happen."
Kube Studios
Kube Studios
Tara: "Don’t have a catty attitude. Your attitude makes a big difference in the beauty industry and no one wants to work with a rude makeup artist, even if he or she has taken makeup classes at the best school in the world. If you are working on a modelling audition or on a set then the atmosphere will likely be tense and busy. The last thing people need is for the make up artist to appear unhelpful and grumpy so leave your attitude at the door and be friendly, kind, and professional at all times. This is a quick relationship killer and can ruin your success as a self employed makeup artist."

Read other Kube Studios blogs for more tips and information. If you want to learn more about the services that we provide or are interested in compiling your own fashion modelling portfolio, visit the official Kube Studios website and also find out more from the short video below this post. Feel free to send us your questions and queries and have a great New Year!

Kube Studios Beauty Tips

How to get Rid of Eye Bags

Aging is an inevitable, and depressing, part of life. As we age, the bags underneath our eyes generally become more noticeable. Eye bags are not only for old people though and many young adults and even teens can experience dark circles and puffy eye bags. Photographers such as Kube Studios can use graphic manipulation tools or even simple make up to remove their appearance, but the best way is to learn how to get rid of them completely.
Kube Studios

When you wake up, putting cucumber slices or cold teaspoons over your eyes can dramatically reduce the appearance of eye bags. Also, try lukewarm teabags from your morning brews. Just hold them on for a few minutes and you'll notice a difference.

Kube Studios
Staying hydrated and watching your diet in terms of caffeine and sodium are very effective. Despite popular belief, these encourage the retention of water which can lead to puffiness.  Multivitamins, fruit and veg will help hugely. Avoid alcohol, even mild alcohol poisoning from a big night out will have lasting effects on your complexion.

Avoid stressful situations where possible. Go shopping at off-peak times, create a nice environment in your home. Stress shows on the face very quickly, be it with wrinkles or eye bags. Sleep enough, regularly, and preferably at the same time each night. This helps your biorhythms stabilise and has loads of health benefits, both mental and physical.

Talk to Kube Studios for all your photography needs and watch this video to find out more.

As the days are getting shorter and the air is getting colder, many of us have the problem of dry skin on our hands. Our cuticles split and our skin feels delicate. Here are some tips that might help you this winter.

After using a scrub to get rid of the dead skin you can rub cuticle oil into your nails and cuticles followed by a rich moisturiser. For added effect, if you put the bottle of oil into a mug of hot water for 10-20 seconds, the solution is more liquid and is better absorbed by your nails.

Use a handcream with a low SPF in it, anything around 10-15. This adds a little protection from drying out and will reduce skin aging. Reapply every time after washing your hands thoroughly, a rinse won't remove the cream but a scrub will and they'll be vulnerable to drying once more.

If you have very dry skin it might be beneficial to use a hand mask at night to help the skin repair. Applying regular hand cream and wearing cotton gloves before sleep can have a similar effect if you don't have a hand mask at home.

Kube Studios: Toe and Heel Height

Kube Studios on Heels

We are a leading studio and agency with over 30 staff working with industry decision makers to get our models the best modelling jobs. Here at Kube Studios we overhear conversations about heels every day and thought we should cover some facts about what makes them comfortable, or not.

When you’re on set and wearing the same pair of heels for hours, it’s important to have the pair that’s right for you and your foot type. It goes without saying really, but they have to fit. Having one size too big or too small just doesn’t work when it comes to heels in modelling

Tight fitting toe boxes can cause the tissue around a nerve between the third and fourth toes to thicken leading to pain and numbness and also even cause bone to grow around the big toe joint. This forces the big toe in the way making bunions.

The higher the heel is the more pressure there is on the front of the foot. This can cause pain and pushes your centre of gravity forwards. In the long term this can lead to alignment problems in the hips and spine. The altered positioning of body weight also puts additional force on the inner knee, causing long term problems.
